Guests can have an overnight stay while their pets get pampered, with an animal psychic on hand to offer “intuitive insights into your dog’s inner world.”

The company’s Tribeca (Lower Manhattan) and Greenwich Village locations have both added a bundle of new services to lure four-legged guests and their human companions to stay there.

At the top of the list is a Pup Psychic in Residence, who will share their doggy communications covering everything from temperament to secret quirks and preferences.

The deluxe price tag of up to $500 (around £376) per night includes a day pass to Happy Tails pet crèche, giving pups access to luxury daycare, a social club and outdoor spaces.

An in-room menu from top-range pet food brand Ollie features a selection of its fresh, vet-formulated, human-grade recipes alongside premium beef jerky treats and pet-appropriate ice cream. Meals can be tailored to each dog’s psychic reading.

“When Mum was young, she watched what she described as a highwayman walk straight through the garden wall – there’s an arch that has been bricked in.”

“By blending intuitive care, stylish experiences and gourmet pet cuisine, Walker Hotels are once again redefining what it means to travel in luxury for humans and pups alike.”

Also known as animal communicators, pet psychics have become increasingly popular among devoted carers. The UK’s Jackie Weaver is one of the nation’s leading practitioners, appearing on a wide variety of TV and radio shows, and in numerous magazines and newspapers.

She has published eight books about her work as well as the 2018 guide titled Pet Grief – How to Cope Before and After.

On her website Jackie says “I do think I have one of the best jobs in the world. It comes with a lot of responsibility, but when you can help an animal or give them a voice, it is the best form of communication to me.”

The former veterinary nurse lives near Wrexham, Wales, with two dogs and a cat. Jackie believes that she survived a bout of cancer in 2005 because she had a purpose. “Animals can talk… and I can hear them!” she said.

“One night I woke up and saw a luminous monk standing in my room reading a book. His hood up, I could see that he had the full habit on.”

Jackie recently made her latest return to ITV’s chat show This Morning. The medium told host Ben Shephard that as a child, her parents ran a boarding kennel. Her father told her to keep away from a particular dog that was dangerous.

Jackie replied, “It’s just scared, Daddy” and walked straight up to it. She picked up the dog, knowing it would be fine.
“I didn’t know at the time I had the ability,” she explained. “It was another animal communicator who told me through my own dog that I could do this.” Jackie then learned how to obtain information “mind to mind” with animals.

On This Morning, which is broadcast live, Jackie “tuned in” to two different dogs and gave information which was verified by the owners.

Zoe rang in about her small twelve-year-old dog Charlie, who is mourning the loss of his companion Archie, who passed aged fourteen in December.

Jackie heard from Charlie that he misses the games he played with his friend. She added that pets understand that their friends go to the Higher Life.

Helpful suggestions included keeping a cuddly toy near Charlie, giving him treats and saying they are “from Archie.”

Julie phoned to ask what her thirteen-year-old dog is trying to tell her with noises that almost sound like words. Jackie detected that the little dog is in charge of the household, but could also feel the sensations of the canine’s ongoing tummy troubles.

As their allotted time came to an end, co-host Cat Deeley said the TV station had received “loads more calls this morning,” so Jackie promised to talk to some of the concerned owners off-air.

On social media, Jackie commented about the popularity of the segment, saying it made “a change from my early days on television, when animal communication was relatively unknown.”

Jackie’s website is at animalpsychic.co.uk Her books are available on Amazon and in bookshops.
